Sports ..
by Westin
i have played sports all of my life. i love everything about sports. i can remember playing with my friends outside my front yard. i loved being with my friends, just throwing the football, or playing baseball, or swinging the golf clubs. throughout my childhood, i have gained an incredible amount of friends through sports. most of my friends are the ones who i would play with in the yards. we grew up together, playing little league baseball, pop warner football, and recreational golf and lacrosse. |

Protecting Yourself in Dangerous Situations ..
by by Jeanna F.
As you're heading back from town on your daily routine of buying some chewing gum at the store, a strange car with tinted windows slowly pulls up next to you while crossing the intersection. A man behind the wheel instantly holds you at gunpoint ordering you to get in the car or to get shot. What would you do in this situation? |

Nine One One ..
by Ethan S.,Sienna A. & Jeanna F.
Ethan Sims- grade 9 New Jersey Sienna Aviani- grade 8 New Jersey I just moved here into New Jersey from California, and I thought it was cool that I could see the World Trade Center on the New York Skyline. It seemed to be a part of our American culture. When I learned of the Sept.11th tragedy, I was speechless. I felt really sorry and became deeply sad because some of the people at my school, some of my friends, didn't come back to school for a while. Some of my friends' family members actually died in the World Trade Center that day. I remember after the WTC, there was a vigil, and people came together to pray for peace. I think, overall, that in spite of tragedy, we are closer together. I don't know what else to say, just hope we won't have any more terrorist attacks. Jeanna Fournier- grade 8 California I first found out about the attacks on 9-11 when my teacher turned the radio on. When I came home my parents were watching the news. I didn't like them watching it so much because it was depressing. My friend's Uncle died in the attacks and I was worried about my brother who was in the Army. I wanted all of this to go away. Terrorists don't solve problems for themselves, they cause problems for themselves. The victims will always be remembered. I think our world has changed because of this. It has become stronger because people are willing to help each other more. But it has also become weaker because people are more prejudice against Islamic people and in the United States everybody should be equal. |
